On 13 December, speaking at a regular meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that as temperatures drop, there is a significant increase in the number of citizens’ complaints about rising utility bills.

The Rais of the republic noted that people are concerned about the rise in heating bills, what the amount is made up of, and why the increase was so significant despite the warm November.

“Residents fear that with the onset of frost, payments will increase even more,” he said and gave an errand to the regional Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector, the State Committee for Tariffs, the administration of cities and regions, managing companies and the Tatenergo Company to take measures to prevent unjustified utility bills to be sent to residents and in case of detection of errors in calculations, ensure prompt recalculation of payments. “Organize “hot lines”. People need to have everything explained calmly. It is our job,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.
