Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture: As many as 46 thousand hectares of technical crops to be still harvested in the republic

On 13 December, speaking at a regional meeting  held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin and the regional Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Lenar Garipov reported about progress of field works and storage and repair of agricultural machinery .

He said that due to frost the current week was more favourable for field work and allowed access to the fields with heavy equipment to harvest the remaining sunflower and corn fields, and also to intensify the removal of sugar beets.

Lenar Garipov informed that 30 thousand hectares of sunflower and maize have been harvested during the last two weeks with 46 thousand hectares still left to be harvested in Nizhnekamsk, Bugulma and Muslyumovo regions.

He also said that sugar plants of the republic have already produced 184 thousand tonnes of sugar.

Farms purchased 123 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers for the 2026 harvest, the Deputy Minister said and stated the need for timely and high-quality storage of equipment for the autumn and winter, informing that more than 6.4 billion rubles will be required to renovate the entire machinery complex.
