Rustam Minnikhanov: At the current stage the tax system has become a powerful tool for strengthening economic stability

On 24 November the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Head of the Federal Tax Service Daniil Egorov took part in a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Tax Authorities Employee of Russia and the 35th anniversary of the Directorate of the Service for Tatarstan held in the Rameev IT Park in Kazan. 

Before the ceremony Daniil Egorov was given a tour round the IT Park and shown projects of the republic in digitalization and systems and services for visitors to the tax offices. 

Having congratulated the tax authorities employees with their professional holiday, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that it is mostly due to their work that Tatarstan has been a donor region for many years, ranking the 6th in Russia and the 1st in the Volga Federal District in terms of tax revenues. Over the past 10 years alone, the volume of taxes mobilized from the region into budgets at all levels has increased almost fourfold, he said and added: “It is the result of your systemic work as well as of high discipline and trust between the state and taxpayers.”  

The Rais of the republic stated that at the current stage the tax system has become a powerful tool for strengthening economic stability and attracted attention to the fact that for 35 years of its history the Federal Tax Servicehas gone from a fiscal authority to a leader in digitalization providing more than 98% of its services in the e-form. The use of digital technologies using artificial intelligence allows for targeted control and reduces the administrative burden on conscientious taxpayers.

Having mentioned close interaction of the republic with Tax Authorities, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is open for innovations being implemented by the Federal Tax Service and mentioned pilot projects in new tax regulations for beginning entrepreneurs and in raising tax literacy of the population and business.

“The Federal Tax Service system is staffed by true professionals who have become worthy successors to the work of tax authority old stagers. It is necessary to use their experience, patriotism and loyalty to their chosen cause when educating the younger generation,” he added and in conclusion handed in state awards of Tatarstan to the most outstanding employees of Tax Authorities.  

In his turn Daniil Yegorov emphasized big achievements of specialists of the republic and said: “What has been achieved in Tatarstan is the result of painstaking, incredibly complex work. The Directorate of the Service for the republic is one of our leaders which means greater responsibility. I rely on you very much,” he said and handed in a number of departmental awards. 

In the end of the ceremony the Head of the Directorate of the Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin thanked for the high appreciation of the work of the team and continued support of all endeavors. “Sustainable development of the economy of the republic together with raising efficiency of the tax administration makes it possible to increase tax revenues. This year we forecast to collect a very significant amount – 1.7 trillion rubles,“ he said.
