Rustam Minnikhanov meets Vice-Mayor of the Chinese City of Shenzhen

On 14 November during his working trip to China, speaking at his meeting with the Vice-Mayor of Shenzhen Luo Huanghao, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov shared his memories when he was in Shenzhen for the first time in 2011 taking part in a solemn ceremony of opening the 26th World Students Sports Games.  Then Kazan took up the baton and hosted the next Universiade in 2013. “I am happy to say that that Kazan and Shenzhen are the twin-cities since 2012,” the Rais of the republic noted. 

He reminded that according to results of the last year the foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan with China broke the record and exceeded 3.3bn dollars US. “In recent years your country has become the key foreign investor in the economy of our republic, with the share of Chinese investments in the foreign investments structure having exceeded 80 per cent last year,” he said. 

Rustam Minnikhanov told that Tatarstan is expanding a portfolio of joint innovative and industrial projects with China, including those in automotive industry. IT sphere and power engineering, and invited delegations from Shenzhen to take part in the International Forum “ROSTKI: Russia-China -mutually beneficial cooperation” aimed at the expansion of business contacts and held with participation of official and business circles of both countries.

Mister Luo Huanghao warmly welcomed Rustam Minnikhanov and said: We highly appreciate our meeting. You have often visited Shenzhen and today were present at signing of an agreement between Innopolis and Guangming. This is a good sign of the development and strengthening bonds between Russia and China.”   

He told about latest new achievements of Shenzhen in economy and concluded: “We are ready to strengthen our contacts with Tatarstan. In particular, we invited your enterprises to visit our city and get acquainted with its economic and industrial capacity. We are ready to provide your entrepreneurs with the most advantageous package of services.”
