Rustam Minnikhanov: It is necessary to take the most serious approach to planning work in view of the declared Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia

On 8 November, speaking at a regular meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that on 4 November events dedicated to the National Unity Day were held in the republic as well as all over Russia. During these events, special emphasis was placed on the importance of uniting the multinational people of Russia, taking into account the challenges and threats he said.

Rustam Minikhanov also informed that at a meeting of the Council on Interethnic Relations Russian President Vladimir Putin supported a proposal to declare 2026 the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

“The republic is traditionally marked for the high level of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional peace and concord and integrity of the community. The decision of the Head of the state is certainly a significant event,” he said.

The Rais of Tatarstan stated that in this regard it is necessary to take the most serious approach to planning work in view of the declared Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
