Rais of Tatarstan takes part in a plenary session of the XIV St Petersburg International Gas Forum

On 9 October the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihanov took part in a plenary session “Gas Market 2025-2035: new outlines under transformation conditions” of the XIV St Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF) which discussed trends of the natural gas global market development and prospects of the international cooperation under the conditions of changing economic and geopolitical situation.

The Gazprom is a strategic partner of Tatarstan implementing joint projects in automotive and petrochemical industries, geophysics, scientific, industrial and educational spheres. Over the past three years alone, the volume of products and services supplied by enterprises of the republic within the framework of the roadmap for the use of products from the regional organizations in the interests of the Gazprom has exceeded 42 billion rubles, and the number of companies has reached 250.. 

Tatarstan is one of the leaders in gas consumption of the country and last year this figure reached a historical maximum of 19 billion cubic meters. This result demonstrates the effectiveness of the cooperation of the republic with the Gazprom and the reliability of the gas supply system.

The republic attaches special attention to the programme of completing gasification being implemented by an errand from the Russian President. To date, 37.6 thousand contracts have been signed with residents, 95% (35.8 thousand) of which have been fulfilled – gas has been supplied to the boundaries of the households. In addition, gas networks have been connected to the boiler houses of 17 medical and educational institutions, 13 of which have switched to gas.
