On 8 October, speaking at a business breakfast on the sidelines of the first forum ”TIME: Russia-India. Mutual Efficiency” held in the Rameev IT Park in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihanov thanked everyone for taking part in the forum and stated that the event of such format is held with India for the first time.
He said he is sure that the forum will become a starting point for implementation of joint projects and foster strengthening Russia-India relations.
“Tatarstan attaches great attention to the development of cooperation with India within the framework of relations of two states. Our governments and business circles are actively expanding interaction in various spheres. We are ready to take part in these processes at the regional level as our republic already has experience of working with Indian partners. Delegations from your country, official and business circles visit our republic and representatives of Tatarstan are also frequent guests in India – we are getting acquainted with provinces and study best practices,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and reminded that the General Consulate of India will soon start its work in Kazan and Tatarstan is planning to open its trade and economic representative office in India.
Having informed about a number of agreements being implemented with provinces, cities, organizations and universities of India, the Rais of the republic said that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and India more than doubled last year and the republic is interested in delivering its products such as trucks, helicopters, ships, medical tools and others to India.
One of the main factors to ensure further development of our economy is implementation of investments projects, Rustam Minnikhanov said and invited Indian businessmen to invest in Tatarstan.
He also reminded that Kazan is one of the leading Russian educational and research centers and proposed to develop bonds between scientific communities and universities.
Also participating in the breakfast were the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Russia Vinay Kumar, the Head of the Tatarstan Investments Development Agency Taliya Minullina the Secretary of the AYUSH Ministry Rajesh Kumar Kotecha, the Chief Secretary of the IAS Dana Kishor and other high rank Indian officials.
