Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Minister of Education of China Du Jiangfeng

On 30 September in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Education of China Du Jiangfeng who has won the International Zavoisky Award in the current year to be given him at a ceremony in Tatarstan Academy of Sciences later today. 
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the Chinese Deputy Minister with a remarkable professional achievement and said: “I wish you new large scale scientific deeds and professional success as well as good health and family prosperity. I am sure that today the whole scientific community of the republic will unanimously join in congratulating you.” 
He stated that it is a trend that a representative of China became the latest laureate of the high scientific award. “Under the leadership of the Chairman Xi Jinping China is rapidly becoming a leading global power, including science, technology and education. In recent years, educational and scientific-technical ties between Tatarstan, China and its provinces have been developing rapidly, “the Rais of the republic emphasized and informed that currently there are more than 2 500 students from China studying at universities of the republic.
In his turn Du Jiangfeng thanked for the high level of organization of a visit of the Chinese delegation in Kazan and said: “It is a great honor for me to take part in the ceremony of handing in International Zavoisky Award.”
He emphasized that currently Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership continues to develop actively, with Tatarstan making a great contribution into the strengthening of cooperation. 
The parties of the meeting also discussed a number of proposals which can give impetus to expanding bilateral relations in the spheres of science and education, including the project of the establishment of a China-Russia University for Promising Technologies and organizing the XV Forum of rectors of the universities- members of the Association of Russian and Chinese technical universities in Kazan next year. 
“These initiatives fit seamlessly into the 2026-2027 agenda, which our leaders have declared to be the Cross-Years of Education,” the Rais of Tatarstan emphasized.
