Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov hands in the chain of office to Ilsur Metshin who has been elected the Head of Kazan Municipality

On 22 September the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov took part in the first session of the Kazan City Duma of the fifth convocation which elected Ilsur Metshin the Head of Kazan Municipality and the Mayor of Kazan.

For the first time the candidates to the post were chosen by a commission and the final list was approved by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

Ilsur Metchin was nominated for the post by the One Russia faction and, speaking to participants of the session, he said: “First of all I would like to thank our electorate for their unanimous decision they expressed a week ago having voted for us and entrusting us with representing their interests for the benefit of the development of our capital. I thank the Rais of our republic Rustam Minnikhanov for trust and nominating me for the post of the Mayor of Kazan.”

After Ilsur Metshin took the oath of the Mayor of Kazan, Asgat Safarov handed him the chain of office and congratulated him with taking office from the behalf of Rustam Minnikhanov and on his own behalf.

“Ilsur Metshin is a leader who is capable of setting the most ambitious goals for himself and his team, and most important to successfully implement them. The decisive victory of members of the Duma headed by Ilsur Metshin testifies to the high level of trust to him from Kazan residents and it is the key of successful development of the city in the future and of course it is the great merit of the administration of the capital headed by Ilsur Metshin,” Asgat Safarov emphasized.

In conclusion he once again congratulated the Mayor of Kazan with taking office and wished everyone further achievements and prosperity to the capital of the republic.
