Rustam Minnikhanov takes the oath of allegiance to the people of the Republic of Tatarstan and assumes the post of Rais of the republic

On 19 September the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin, the Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy in the Volga region Igor Komarov, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Aleksandr Babakov, the First President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Ambassadors of friendly countries and other officials took part in ceremonial events to mark the inauguration of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan held in the Saydashev Concert Hall in Kazan.

The solemn ceremony began with the introductory speech of the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin who welcomed participants and honorary guests of the event, and then Constitutions of Russia and Tatarstan and colours of the Rais of the republic were brought in into the hall.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who was elected at the elections held on 14 September 2025, took the oath of allegiance to the people of Tatarstan and to Constitutions of Russia and the republic, and Farid Mukhametshin solemnly announced that Rustam (Nurgalievich) Minnikhanov took office as Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and congratulated him and gave flowers.

After anthems of Russia and Tatarstan were plaid, Farid Mukhametshin read out congratulatory telegramms which came from the Leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and Marat Khusnullin read out congratulations from the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin.
