Rustam Minnikhanov: Development of industrial robotics is the most important way raising competitiveness of our economy

On 3 September in Innopolis the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a workshop-meeting with directors of industrial enterprises of the republic dedicated to the issues of introduction and operation of robotics in production, where its participants discussed world trends in industrial  robotics, the existing state support measures, solutions in productions automation, demand and challenges the branch faces.

Before the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the industrial site of the Center for the Industrial Robotics Development of the University of Innopolis where he got acquainted with promising development for industrial enterprises such as robotics complexes and production automation systems

Experts of the university told about interim results of the work of industrial robotics development centers in Russia, and the regional Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov stated that Tatarstan makes a substantial contribution into the development of industrial robotics and is among top five regions of the country in the number of used robots. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Oleg Korobchenko told participants of the meeting that automotive enterprises are the most advanced in using robotics and emphasized that all leading universities of the republic train robotics specialists.

The Director General of the Kazan Helicopter Plant Nikolay Yakovlev told about the new mechanical processing production at the enterprise designed for manufacturing a wide range of parts for the Russian Helicopters Holing plants and fulfilling commercial orders. On top of that is opens additional opportunities for new jobs, he said. 

Rutam Minnikhanov highly appraised work of the holding in modernization of the Kazan Helicopter Plant and, summarizing results of the meeting, emphasized that the development of industrial robotics is the most important ways of raising competitiveness of economy. “Most important is that the republic has both manufacture of robots and corresponding specialists. We should do serious work in training and retraining the staff. In September we have a large event - the Kazan Digital Week and this topic should be discussed in detail at this forum, “he said. 

The Rais of the republic also noted that Tatarstan is planning to pass a regional robotics strategy and emphasized that robotics prospects cover practically all branches of economy, facilitate raising the productivity and ensure technological leadership. “Everyone must be actively involved in this work,” he concluded.
