Rais of Tatarstan: It was Boris Tikhomirov who made Giproniiaviaprom a well-known project organization for the defense industry throughout the country

On August 30, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the opening ceremony of the park and unveiling the bust to the outstanding head of Kazan Giproniiaviaprom Research Institute Boris Tikhomirov.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan congratulated everyone on the Day of the Republic and the City Day of Kazan. He stressed that together with the institute, Boris Tikhomirov became an expert - in 18 years, he grew from engineer to CEO. «He led it in 1988 - during the most difficult period - and managed not only to preserve the institute and its unique team. It was Boris Tikhomirov who made Giproniiaviaprom a well-known project organization for the defense industry throughout the country.

He emphasized that today the institute is named after Boris Tikhomirov and an annual award ceremony for the laureates of the Tikhomirov Prize is held, which has become a good incentive for specialists in the engineering and construction areas. Minnikhanov noted Tikhomirov's great merit in the dynamic and successful development of the institute, the use of accumulated experience and knowledge in the creation of a modern design and construction industry in Tatarstan.
