Rustam Minnikhanov: Aleksandr Pavlov played a special role in the life of KMPO

On August 30, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the ceremony of unveiling the bas-relief to the Director General of the Kazan Engine Building Production Association (KMPO) Aleksandr Pavlov and a memorial stele dedicated to the history of the plant.

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on the Day of the republic.

"We are proud of KMPO - one of the oldest engine building production association of the republic with a rich history. During the difficult war years, the plant workers showed dedication, working around the clock for the Victory, produced 15,000 aircraft engines for front-line aircraft," the Rais of the republic said. He emphasized that Pavlov gave 50 years of his life to KMPO. "KMPO was lucky with strong leaders. Pavlov played a special role in the life of the enterprise, who went the way from worker to director at KMPO and managed to breathe new life into the plant. Under his leadership, automation and technical re-equipment of production was carried out, new workshops and plants were created in Zelenodolsk and Buinsk, housing, kindergartens, hospitals and cultural centers were built," Minnikhanov said. The Rais of the republic emphasized that the professionalism of Aleksandr  Pavlov, his tenacity and dedication to the task have made KMPO the leading enterprise of domestic engineering.

Another of his favorite brainchildren was the factory hockey team, the current multiple champion of Russia, the Ak Bars hockey club.

The initiative to create the sculptural and architectural composition belongs to the Director General of KMPO Damir Karimullin. "All his life, until his last days, Aleksandr Filippovich was devoted to his plant and lived by its interests. Largely due to his efforts, his talent as a leader, the whole country knew about KMPO," he said.
