On 29 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Minister of Higher Education and Science Valery Falkov had a meeting with delegates of the IV Kazan Global Youth Summit held in the new Kazan Tatar Theatre after Galiaskar Kamal and moderated by the Director of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy Dilbar Sadykova.

Welcoming participants of the event, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed special thanks to the summit partners for its joint organization as well as to Valery Falkov and the President of the ICYF Taha Ayhan.

Answering questions from delegates, Valery Falkov told that he was born and raised in Siberia and graduated as a lawyer from Tyumen State University. He advised young people to become professionals as “professionals are always in demand. And a man becomes a professional when he loves his vocation,” he said

The Rais of the republic supported his colleague and said: “Do not look for what is fashionable. Choose what you like and always be a little better than others in the vocation you have chosen. I myself really loved technology and chose engineering. This vocation gave a lot of knowledge and today, when I have to deal with some complicated tasks, the engineering component helps.”

The Russian Minister also answered questions concerning the development of AI, the number of young scientists under 30 years of age and ways of attracting young people to science.

In his turn, speaking about working with youth, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that this needs a systemic approach and stated that currently it is important to educate young people on the basis of traditional values.
