On 29 August in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Russian Minister of Higher Education and Science Valery Falkov had a meeting with heads of foreign delegations of the IV Kazan Global Youth Summit which is the educational and expert platform for exchanging best practices of working with youth in the sphere of education, culture and mass media.
The Aid to the Rais Timur Suleymanov who is also the Head of the regional branch of the Movement of the First, said that this year the Summit has gained the status of the federal platform and informed that more than 200 delegates form 45 countries of the world are taking part in it.
Welcoming delegates of the Summit, Valery Falkov said: “We have been united by the topic of youth policy. Young people are our future and we have a very simple message. We would like young people to be well educated and patriots of their own country. We think our colleagues all over the world share this viewpoint. Our education system is open and we are establishing relations with everyone who is interested in cooperation with us and welcome students’ mobility and academic exchange. Science has always been a bridge uniting people no matter what their preferences, views or current political situation are.”
“Today you are in Tatarstan which is one of the leading regions of Russia. It is a very hospitable land and I recommend you not only work by the official programme but also have a look at wonderful architecture and nature, visit museums and got acquainted with history of these remarkable places,” he concluded.
In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed participants of the Summit and said: “It has become a good tradition to gather branch ministers of the OIC and BRICS countries in Kazan as this format is an important tool for shaping the global youth policy agenda, preservation of traditional values in the epoch of globalization and for creating conditions for revealing the potential of every individual.”
He also informed about active work of the Movement of the First in Russia and the youth infrastructure created in Tatarstan, namely the largest network of children’s camps, youth and teenagers clubs, cultural, educational and sports facilities in the republic.
The Rais of the republic also told in detail about the Kazan Federal University and its role in the education system of the region and stated the need for further development of cooperation in the form of international educational internships and exchange of best practices in the spheres of youth policy and education.
“This will help young people from our countries to know better the culture of each other and create joint projects which will facilitate strengthening the global sustainability. We are interested in this and are always open for a dialogue,” he concluded.
At the meeting heads of foreign delegations from Algeria, the Republic of Srpska, Malaysia, Sierra-Leone, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt and other countries noted the high level of organization of the Kazan Global Youth Summit and proposed to continue developing humanitarian bonds and to ramp up students’ exchanges and youth cooperation.
In conclusion of the meeting the Bolgar Islamic Academy and the Al-Azhar University from Egypt signed a memorandum of intent.
