On 28 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and the Executive Director of the State Housing Fund Marat Zaripov took part in an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the fund, where he announced about launching a new regional housing programme which will make it possible for families of participants of the special military operation to buy apartments by the social mortgage.

Speaking to participants of the event, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that a decision to establish the Fund was made by the First President of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev during one of the most difficult periods of modern history of the country. “As time has shown, this was a very timely and necessary decision. It made it possible to maintain the pace of construction and develop innovative mechanisms for providing citizens with housing, which later became an example for other regions and still has no analogues. The Fund has passed an impressive development path, having become a unique tool for solving housing issues of residents,” he said.

The Rais of the republic reminded about the Programme of Dilapidated houses Liquidation when 2.7m square meters of housing were built in nine years and about 50 thousand families moved from shabby houses to new comfortable apartments. He also told about the unique social mortgage programme being implemented in the republic since 2005, giving an opportunity to more than 135 thousand families, working in the spheres of education, medicine, culture and the like, to move to new flats.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that today in Tatarstan they are creating entire microdistricts filled with all necessary infrastructure for a comfortable life and the Salavat Kupere, the construction of which started ten year ago, is the one of the large scale projects of the State Housing Fund.

Having announced about the new important programme launched in Tatarstan to ensure housing for participants of the special military operation (SMO), the Rais of the republic handed in keys from a new apartment to Alina Latypova whose husband is currently taking part in the SMO.
