Rustam Minnikhanov meets the Ambassador of China to Russia Zhang Hanhui

On 19 August, speaking at his meeting with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Russia Zhang Hanhui held with participation of the General Consul of China in Kazan Xiang Bo on the sidelines of the III forum of Russia-China cooperation “ROSTKI” at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that lately relations of Russia and China have achieved an unprecedented level.  

A visit of a high level Chinese delegation headed by the Chairman of China Xi Jinping to take part in the BRICS Summit in Kazan became a confirmation of special, multifaceted and mutually beneficial bonds, he said and emphasized that at its level Tatarstan makes a contribution into the development of Russia-China interaction. There is an increase in trade turnover between Tatarstan and China – last year it amounted to 3.3 billion dollars US. A number of enterprises of the republic have business partners in China and joint investment projects are being implemented. 

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the direct flights between Kazan and Shanghai and Sanya facilitate the development of business and tourists bonds. 

“The decision to establish the ROSTKI Forum, which is being held for the third time, was taken for strengthening our friendly and business ties. We see that this platform is in demand and facilitates the development of new projects,” the Rais of the republic said and thanked the Chinese Ambassador for his assistance in strengthening the cooperation of Tatarstan with China.  

In his turn Zhang Hanhui gave high appraisal to the level of the ROSTKI forum organization. He stated that the republic has all necessary conditions for attracting the Chinese business and said that the establishment of the Center for Facilitation of Chinese Investments in Tatarstan is a very important event.
