Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of the Russian Post Mikhail Volkov

On 18 August, speaking at his meeting with the Director General of the Russian Post Mikhail Volkov on the sidelines of the III forum of Russia-China cooperation “ROSTCHI” at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the post office is one of key social facilities especially in the rural area. He stated the importance of supporting postal workers and informed that earlier the republic decided to allocate subsidies for additional payments to employees. 

The Rais of the republic also informed that there is the regional programme of post offices modernization and 73 offices underwent capital overhaul in Tatarstan in the last three years.

“The Russian Post actively cooperates with the industrial sector of the republic especially in providing logistics services for leading enterprises of Tatarstan. It is important to continue developing the strategic partnership,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and emphasized that the republic is interested in further close interaction with the Russian Post.

In his turn Mikhail Volkov stated that Tatarstan is one of the key entities for the Russian Post. “Thank you for comprehensive support especially in modernization of post offices. The republic is implementing a number of interesting projects, some of which we are scaling up all over Russia. There is a strong team here, we trust them with new directions,” he emphasized. 

The parties of the meeting discussed issues of the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, prospects of the development of Kazan logistics postal hub and a number of other issues and in conclusion signed an agreement between the Government of the republic and the Russian Post on cooperation in raising accessibility of postal services in Tatarstan, further post offices modernization and staffing offices with qualified specialists.
