Rustam Minnikhanov visits Laishevo region

On 15 August during his working trip to Laishevo region the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the Narmonka agricultural farm where he got acquainted with the implementation of a vegetables growing investments project.  The project envisages increasing the irrigation area up to 1 700 hectares and growing no less than 60 thousand tonnes of potatoes and  field vegetables as well as creation of 26 new jobs. 

Rustam Minnikhanov was informed that the project is being implemented in several stages and in the current year the farm is planning to harvest no less than 20 thousand tonnes of potatoes and field vegetables, with the project work still going on. 

Later the same day the Rais of the republic had a meeting with farmers and heads of rural settlements of the region, where its Head Ildus Zaripov reported that as of today the harvest campaign is nearly finished with 35 500 tonnes of grain already threshed with the yield of 37 centners per hectare. He also said that granola harvesting has also been completed by 67% and farmers have started sowing winter crops. 

After Ildus Zaripov informed that there are 4 100 heads of cattle, including 1 500 milking cows in the region, Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is necessary to ramp up the development of private farmsteads. “It is necessary to work with population, develop cooperatives and build a forage center to provide fodder. Farmsteads should get help. You have big capacity for developing agriculture as you have a huge Kazan market nearby,” he emphasized. 

The Rais of the republic also thanked residents of the region for humanitarian help and sending necessary goods to the special military operation zone and emphasized the importance of supporting soldiers and their families.
