Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in International Ecological Conference in Altay Republic

On 25 July by an invitation from the Russian Government, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the International Ecological Conference held by the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin in the Republic of Altay.

Also participating in the conference are Prime Ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as their partner-countries are interacting in ecological issues both bilaterally and in international amalgamations.

Tatarstan carries out active joint work with these countries, including that in ecological issues as the conference also discusses preservation of biodiversity such as joint efforts of five countries in recovering the population of the snow leopard whose natural habitat is only in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Tatarstan took an active part in the establishment of the Biodiversity Preservation Center “The Snow Leopard” on the territory of the Karym Company in the Republic of Altay. Currently the center takes care of four animals living there, three of them provided by Kyzgyztsan for strengthening the population.
