Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Russian Academy of Education Olga Vasilyeva

On 23 July at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the regional Minister of Education and Science and some rectors of universities of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of Russian Academy of Education (RAE) Olga Vasilyeva discussed issues of further development of the higher school, educational school standards and other topics important for the education system.

They also signed a cooperation agreement between the Government of the republic and Academy which envisages the development of the education system, implementation of innovational teaching methods and strengthening of the scientific potential of the region.

The work will be coordinated by the Vice-President of the RAE, Academician Viktor Basyuk on the side of the academy and by Tatarstan Deputy Prime-Minister Leyla Fazleeva on the side of the republic.

“This step opens new opportunities for advanced educational practices in Tatarstan. Joint projects will make it possible not only to increase the quality of teaching and education of the new generation but also to create conditions for the development of research which will be in demand ta the federal level, “Olga Vasilyeva said.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov stated: “This is a strategically important partnership for us. Tatarstan attaches special attention to education and science and today we are taking a new step in the development of these spheres. I am sure that joint work with the RAE will enable implementation of large scale initiatives aimed at supporting talented kids and teachers.”
