Rais of Tatarstan assesses the progress of repair and restoration work at the Temple-Monument to fallen soldiers

On July 15, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the progress of repair and restoration work on the Temple-Monument to Fallen Soldiers, built in 1823, which is a cultural heritage site of federal significance.

The memorial temple is located in the waters of the Kazanka River and is connected to the riverbank by a bridge. It is a 20-meter quadrangular truncated pyramid raised on a high pedestal. Repair work was carried out here in different years. In 2024, a large-scale restoration of the temple started.

Minnikhanov looked around the memorial temple and was informed that interior finishing work, the recreation of entrance groups, stairs, porticos and stucco decor are currently being completed. The cladding of the facade with natural stone, the installation of a historical (mooring) staircase, the restoration of the roof, and the construction of a stone fence around the perimeter of the monument are being completed. The improvement of the surrounding area is also ongoing.
