Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

On 2 July, speaking at his meeting with the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Ankara, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said :”I was happy to visit Kazan at the BRICS Summit.” He informed that colleagues told him about the KazanForum held in Kazan, where Turkey was traditionally represented by a big delegation. 

“You are carrying out a great deal of important work through the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group.  I follow it with great respect and would like to acknowledge your efforts and contribution to the development of Russia's relations with the countries of the Islamic world, “the Leader of Turkey emphasized. 

He stated that more than a quarter of all investments of Turkey in Russia are made in Tatarstan. 

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the President of Turkey for his personal attention attached to the development of cooperation between the regions.

The parties of the meeting discussed prospects of increasing the trade turnover which makes about 5.3 bln dollars US today.  Recep Erdoğan asked Rustam Minnikhanov to continue supporting joint Tatarstan-Turkey projects.
