On 1 July, speaking at his meeting with Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat in Ankara, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated: “A number of leading Turkish companies are implementing large projects in Tatarstan. They are all successful due to support from the leadership of both countries and personally their Presidents. It is their determination to strengthen economic cooperation that enables regions to implement serious projects.”
According to results of last year the trade turnover between Turkey and Tatarstan doubled, demonstrating an impressive growth, and reached 5.3 bn dollars US. At the same time the parties of the meeting agreed that there are good opportunities in such spheres as automotive and auto components production, machine tool manufacturing and metalworking, agriculture and food production and agricultural machine-building.
Earlier a delegation from Turkey headed by Deputy Trade Minister Mahmut Gürcan came to KazanForum by an errand from the Minister, and on the sidelines of St Petersburg International Economic Forum Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with another Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey Mustafa Tuzcu.
