Rustam Minnikhanov and Leadership of SIBUR discuss construction of a new scientific center in Kazan

On 26 June at the premises of the SIBUR Innovations building the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director General of the SIBUR Company Mikhail Karisalov discussed the progress of construction of a new SIBUR center for research and technologies scaling up in Kazan which is planned to be completed in 2025 with 70 per cent of equipment supplied by Russian companies and scientific centers.

The center, which will employ 350 scientists and will have 30 labs concentrated on key spheres of advanced chemistry, will start its operation in 2026. The modular outlay of facilities will make it possible to use labs for simultaneous work on parallel projects including joint work with research and industrial partners.

The Company develops active cooperation with Kazan National Research Technological University, having opened a joint polymers lab in 2024 and with Kazan Federal University where the Company opened a joint lab for development and research of heterogeneous catalysts.  

On its first floor the Center will have 15 unique pilot installations and on the second floor a unique prototyping center which will work on defining required parameters for raising efficiency and speeding up scaling of its own technologies.
