Rustam Minnikhanov meets Secretary General of the Council of Muslim elders H.E. Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam

On 21 June, speaking at his meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders H.E. Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam during the celebrations of the Tatar folk fest of Sabantuy, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed his guest and stated that he is very happy to see him in the republic.

The Rais of the republic also passed words of respect to the Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, whom he met at the Bahrain Forum in Manama in 2022.

“We will be happy to work together with the Council headed by you,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and emphasized that due to Russian President Vladimir Putin there are all conditions for the development of Islam - one of traditional religions of our country. This includes construction of mosques, the development of multi-level Islamic education system such as madrasah, institutes and an academy (there are two higher education institutions in the republic, namely the Russian Islamic Institute and Kazan Islamic University.

The Rais of the republic also stated that large work in done in Halal industry and Halal way of life.

In his turn Mohamed Abdelsalam thanked for the invitation and said that it is his first time in Tatarstan and first participation in the Sabantuy celebrations.

He emphasized that right upon his arrival to Kazan he could give a positive assessment both to modern infrastructure and architecture of the city. I am impressed by what I have seen and the economic development of the republic, Mohamed Abdelsalam said.
