Rais of Tatarstan meets Administration of MTS

On 20 June, speaking at his meeting with the Director General of the MTS Company Inesa Galaktionova, who is also the Chairperson of the Company Board on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025), the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “In Tatarstan about 2m resident are MTS subscribers which makes about 33 per cent of the market. I want to thank you for long time cooperation.” 

Only for the last five years the MTS has invested 6.9bn rubles into the development of communication network in the republic and last year it connected 95 small settlements to the high speed internet. “The elimination of the digital inequality in the rural areas is especially valuable for us. Your company has also joined this project and goes to rural settlements,” he Rais of the republic emphasized. 

The parties of the meeting discussed issues of the implementation of MTS plans of installation of 700 mobile base stations in the republic and installation of base stations at federal highways M7 and M12 and others. 

According to its import replacement plans, for the first time the MTS  has installed eight domestic manufactured base stations in the republic  and is actively implementing projects in digitalization of agribusiness, in supply and commissioning of domestically produced equipment, and is introducing the equipment for a unmanned payment system of rolling stock of passenger transportation enterprises  and for video surveillance and passenger flow counting.
