Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in opening an indoor football arena “Rubin” named after Sentyabrev

On 16 June, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the regional Minister of Sport Vladimir Leonov, the Chairman of the Rubin FC Board Marat Safiullin and the Chairman of the Tatarstan Football Federation Aleksandr Gusev took part in a solemn ceremony of opening an indoor football arena “Rubin” named after Sentyabrev.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the opening of the new sport facility is a landmark event for the republic and thanked the Russian Government and the Ministry of Sport of Russia for their supporting the project. “This is just the beginning of a big project of the Center for Football development which will satisfy all international requirements. The successful implementation of the project will make it possible to provide all necessary conditions for training high class athletes. I wish success to young football players,” the Rais of the republic emphasized.

In his video welcoming the President of the Russian Football Union Aleksandr Dyukov gave a high assessment to the modern football infrastructure of Tatarstan. “The republic is doing a lot for the football development and is one of the leaders in building new football facilities. Ten indoor football arenas have been put into operation only in the last two years. This will make a great contribution to the growth of football participation and the quality of training of young football players,” he said.

In his turn Ilsur Metshin thanked the leadership of the country and the republic for supporting football and the development of the city sport infrastructure, and Marat Safiullin explained why the pitch was named after Nikolay Sentyabrev who was a famous Rubin Club coach in 50-70-es last century.

After the ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov made a symbolic kick at the ball and took a commemorative photo with the young footballers.

The total area of the new football arena makes 6 500square meters with the pitch size being 109x51meters. The complex has comfortable changing rooms, first aid room and other facilities.
