Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in Mordva culture holiday Valda shinyas in Tetyushi region of Tatarstan

On 15 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Head of Tetyushi municipality Ramis Safiullov and the Head of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov took part in a regional holiday of Mordva culture “Valda shinyas” held in the village of Kildyushevo of Tetyushi region where he looked round the main sites of the holiday such as “A Peasant’s hut”, “Mordva homestead”, “Fishermen’s camping ground” and “Kildyushevo history”.

The Holiday, which translated into Russian means “a bright day”, is dedicated to the summer solstice and has been held annually since 2014.

The guests of the holiday could try national dishes, take part in sport competitions and get acquainted with family traditions of the Mordva while the famous Tyushtyan Fair demonstrated regional arts and crafts such as souvenirs made of wood, decorations and many other things.

Welcoming guests and participants of the fest Artyom Zdunov said: “It is a great holiday and I am very thankful for your attention to the development of culture and language of Mordva people.”

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov greeted everyone in Mordva language and expressed his gratitude to local residents and the administration of Tetyushi region for the high level of the holiday organization.

“Our country is multinational as well as is our republic. Just recently we held Sabantuy in Mordovia and today we are having Valda shinyas here in Tatarstan and this brings us closer. I wish everyone excellent mood and to always have such holidays together.” He said and in conclusion handed in state awards and letters of appreciation of the republic.
