Rustam Minnikhanov at a forum of Ministers of Education: Forum “Shaping the future” will become an impetus for generating new ideas

On 11 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov,  the Aide to Russian President Vladimir Medinskiy and Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov  took part in a plenary session of the III International forum of Ministers of Education “Shaping the Future”  held in the Rameev IT Park in Kazan.

The Forum is an open platform where its participants – delegations from friendly countries headed by Ministers, heads of education authorities of the Russian constituent entities, representatives of organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Education of Russia can exchange best practices and discuss burning challenges of the international education environment, the system of values , education quality and its assessment, the role of education in the development of economy and other issues.

Speaking after video address from Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his welcoming speech Rustam Minnikhanov thanked organizers for having chosen Kazan as the venue for such an important event for the third time.

“Our republic is a dynamically developing region that combines advanced technologies, mighty industrial infrastructure and openness to international partnership. Here on the cross-roads of cultures and traditions we not only preserve our heritage but also create the future through innovations in education. Under conditions of quick transformations education and science become the key factor of sustainable development of countries through training specialists, technological leadership and preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage,” he said.

The Rais of the republic reminded that the region is one of the leaders in education and science and informed about the educational and scientific institutions of the republic and their international cooperation.

The government of the republic is implementing its own project to support the academic community – the Algarysh grant, which provides the opportunity for internships in the best Russian and foreign educational organizations, he informed.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned international forums held in Tatarstan, such as BRICS Young leaders forum and the XVI BRICS Summit  held last autumn and the annual International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum” which is the main federal platform in the country for working with Islamic countries. Next year Kazan will be the cultural capital of the Islamic world, he informed.

“We are grateful to the federal center for the trust it has shown us in the development of international relations,” the Rais of the republic concluded and expressed his confidence that the current Forum will become an impetus for generating new ideas and training successful specialists for the economy of the future.
