Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov

On 5 June, speaking at his meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Kyrgyzstan to take part in the IX meeting of the Steering Committee of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Programme, thanked for the invitation and stated that the topic of the snow leopard preservation is very close to Tatarstan.

“We highly appreciate an opportunity to expand partnership with your country within the framework of friendly Russia-Kyrgyzstan relations,” the Rais of the republic emphasized and informed that according to results of last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan made 138m dollars US having more than tripled in the last years. A number of enterprises of the republic actively work with Kyrgyzstan. So the KAMAZ Automaker has a broad dealership network here, he said.

“We are interested in expanding the presence of our companies in your country, in particular in increasing deliveries of agricultural machinery, petrochemical products, car tyres and Halal products,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and added that the Tatars and the Kyrgyz are united by many things such as similar languages and one religion. “The writer Chinghiz Aitmatov is an important binding thread,” he concluded.

In his turn the President of Kyrgyzstan stated that every visit is an important step towards strengthening relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan. “You were the first to respond to our invitation to take part in the forum on snow leopard preservation. Your personal participation is very important for us,” Sadyr Japarov said.

He attracted attention to the fact that it is very symbolic that their meeting takes place on the eve a very important for all Muslims holiday the Eid al-Adha and congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov and brotherly people of Tatarstan with the holiday.

Sadyr Japarov also told that always remembers his visits to Kazan with warm feelings and especially emphasized the high level of organization of the BRICS Summit in autumn 2024. On top of that he also stated the high impact of the International Economic Forum “Russia the Islamic World: KazanForum”.

“Kazan Forum, which has become a good platform for interaction and building cooperation of Russia and the OIC countries, is a business card of Tatarstan. And we actively use this platform,” the President of Kyrgyzstan assured in his conversation with Rustam Minnikhanov.
