Rais of Tatarstan takes part in opening of the SIBURINTEKH-MK education center in Nizhnekamsk

On 23 May in Nizhnekamsk the Rais (head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the regional Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Ayrat Gatiyatov and other officials took part in a ceremony of opening a SIBURINTEKH-MK education center for the development of engineering and technological expertise. 

The Center has been established in the new campus of Nizhnekamsk Chemical and Technological Institute and has become an important part of the educational infrastructure for oil and gas industry. The SIBUR has invested about 1.8bn rubles into the Center   with the capacity of training and retraining 17 thousand people a year, including 2 000 students and 1 500 school children.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the Center will be very important for training specialists for oil and gas enterprises and said: “Today the republic is implementing a number of large petrochemical projects and they all need well educated high quality specialists.” 

The Chairman of the Board and the Director General of the SIBUR Mikhail Karisalov stated that this educational complex will work for the benefit of the whole oil and gas chemical branch of the country. “The project has been implemented for two and a half years and the center will work for dozens of enterprises of the branch. We are very grateful to our partners – Nizhnekamsk Chemical and Technological Institute- for close joint work,” he added. 

The educational programmes of the center will use technology oriented approaches where 80 per cent of time are practical classes. The labs are equipped with unique technologies including the fractional column.

It is the second such center of the company after the first one opened in Tobolsk in 2019.
