On 22 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihanov visited Almetyevsk Tatar State Drama Theatre which was established in 1944. Today it is one of the most successful and well-known team of the republic performing plays by classics of Tatar and Russian literatures as well as works of modern authors. For all the years of its work the theatre staged more than 400 plays.
The theatre is well-known both in Tatarstan and other regions of Russia and in 2017 its team for the first time took part in a festival in Europe.
The capital overhaul of the theatre by the national project “Culture” has been completed this year and Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the renovated space, talked to the actors and watched the immersive play “Home of my youth”.
Speaking to the team of the theatre, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I am happy to meet you today. We are proud of achievement of our teams and workers of culture and art. It is culture that facilitates strengthening the spiritual and moral foundations of the development of our society and solving concrete problems and tasks in the social sphere. Tatarstan is an example of strengthening the civic identity, Russian statehood and inter-ethnic and inter-confessional peace and concord.”
He emphasized that one of priority tasks of the implementation of national policy under the conditions of new challenges is the preservation and multiplication of traditional and spiritual values which are an inseparable part of all diversity of national cultures.
In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov handed in the team of Almetyevsk Theater the Russian Order “For Merits in Culture and Art” which was awarded by the decree of Russian President for achievements in the field of culture and art, many years of fruitful work.
