Tatarstan and VEB.RF have agreed about cooperation in the development of partnership financing

On 16 May on the sidelines of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Russia State Development Corporation VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov  have signed an agreement between the Government of the republic and the VEB.RF on cooperation in partnership financing.

Tatarstan has become one of four pilot regions (together with Chechnya, Bashkortostan and Dagestan) in implementation of principles of Islamic (partnership) banking and financing in Russia and today there is a substantial growth of interest to it from residents and financial organizations, the amount of operations having increased by 2.5 times in 2024 compared to 2023.

At the same time the republic successfully implements events in raising financial literacy of residents in partnership financing, in training specialists and broadening the financial infrastructure.
