Rustam Minnikhanov watches the Shurale ballet performance in the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia

On 10 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia in Moscow where he watched the Shurale ballet performed during the Mariinsky Theatre tour.

The ballet based on the libretto by Tatar fairy tales and music by Tatar composer Farid Yarullin was staged by Leonid Yakobson and was first shown on 12 March in 1945 in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.

Before the beginning of the performance Rustam Minnikhanov had a conversation with the Conductor, Artistic and Director General of the Mariinsky Theatre Valeiy Gergiev.
