Rustam Minnikhanov at organizing committee of events dedicated to 80th Anniversary of the Victory: In the Year of the Defender of Fatherland we understand the importance of historical heritage of the Great Victory

On 8 May in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the organizing committee of events celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, members of the Russian State Duma, representatives of the community, enterprises and organizations, Mass Media and head of municipalities taking part in it.

“Today we are having a meeting of the organizing committee of events celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The May 9 is forever the dear, beloved and great holiday in the heroic history of our country. In this day we with gratitude remember the generation of Victors including the feats of sons and daughters of Tatarstan who paid their lives for liberating our land and all those who forged the Great Victory in the rear,” the Rais of the republic said.

He continued: “In the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, we are especially acutely aware of the importance of the historical legacy of the Great Victory. The unparalleled courage, the indestructible strength of spirit of the Generation of Winners is the main value guideline for each of us. Today in the difficult time for the country we have united to fulfill tasks of the special military operation (SVO). The courage of our heroes and their devotion to their homeland evoke in us boundless gratitude.”

After the minute of silence in memory of all the fallen, Rustam Minnikhaov said that the archives play the key role in preservation of heroic pages of the country and gave the floor to the Chairman of the State Committee of the republic  for Archival Affairs Gulnara Gabdrakhmanova  who told in detail about the work being done in this sphere .

“Today our compatriots take part in the SVO, and we express our deep gratitude to all those who defended and keep to defend the sovereignty and safety of our country, to people who bore all the hardships of military operations on their shoulders, " Rustam Minnikhanov said and concluded: “Our main task is to surround veterans with warmth, attention and endless care,”

In the end of the meeting the Rais of the republic gave a number of errands to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to the Emergencies Ministry and the Healthcare Ministry to ensure safety and to accompany all planned events during the celebrations, to the Tatmedia agency to ensure the proper coverage of the events and all power bodies and municipalities to organize active participation on the WWII and the SVO veterans and participants.

“I am sure the experience we have will let us organize all events at the high level, “he said and in conclusion congratulated everyone with the coming great holiday of the Victory.
