Rais of Tatarstan discusses the field work progress in Tukaevsky region

On 6 April at their meeting in Tukaevsky region of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and heads of agribusiness enterprises and settlements and activists discussed the current sowing work progress. 

Speaking at the meeting, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov stated that the region occupies leading places in a number of results in social and economic development. “This region in one of largest meat producers in the republic, and 150 thousand tonnes out of 508 thousand tonnes of meat in the whole of the republic are produced here. It also implements large projects in cattle breeding,” he said. 

The Minister also reported about 42 per cent of the sowing campaign completed in the region and paid special attention to the condition of the agricultural machinery. Thus he said that 60 per cent of tractors and trucks are operated beyond their depreciation periods and need repairs and replacement, and proposed farmers to use the state support programmes.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the importance of the infrastructural development of the region and called to take into account the existence of roads and social infrastructure when considering development projects. At the same time he assured that all regional programmes will be implemented with special attention traditionally given to road work.

“Tukaevsky region has good results in many spheres but there is always something to strive for. You are located close to such big cities as Naberezhnyye Chelny and Nizhnekasmk and these are big trade markets for local farmers,” he concluded.

In the end of the meeting the Rais of the republic handed in the medal “100 years of establishment of the TASSR” to the farm machinery operator of the Ganiev peasant farm Ravkat Burganov.
