Farid Mukhametshin: people are main wealth of Tatarstan

Delicate issues of national sphere were considered today by participants of the joint meeting of the Council of the Tatarstan People’s Assembly and Interministerial working group on interethnic and interconfessional relations. Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council, chairman of the Council of the Tatarstan People’s Assembly Farid Mukhametshin chaired the meeting held in Zelenodolsk.


Today in some Russian regions interethnic problems are aggravated by actions of illegal migrants. In this connection the notion of people’s friendship gets special meaning. In Tatarstan interethnic and interconfessional issues had always been considered a priority. The meeting in Zelenodolsk tackled upon the most pressing and sharp points.

“The main aim of our meeting is to study the experience of municipal districts of our republic related to concept of state national policy,” Farid Mukhametshin said. He emphasized that efforts to strengthen interethnic and interconfessional relations is a priority for the republican leadership. Today it is very important to be involved in this work at the local level for leaders of municipal districts, representatives of the Assembly, heads of national-cultural organizations.

Farid Mukhametshin also said that municipalities have to work out specific plans for realization of the concept of state national policy. The meeting adopted the decision to deliver all proposals that were considered during the discussions to the Council on interethnic and interconfessional relations to the Tatarstan President.

Administration of the State Council
