Rustam Minnikhanov meets Foreign Minister of Oman

On 2 May at their meeting in Moscow the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Foreign Minister of Oman Badr bib Hamad Al-Busaidi   stated the importance of strengthening inter-regional ties within the framework of Russia-Oman relations.

Earlier on 22 April Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the extended meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, who paid a state visit to Russia. During their conversation the parties reached an arrangement that a delegation of Oman will take part in the KazanForum. The parties of the meeting also stated the importance of exchanging business-missions which could help to find new partners, to sign agreements and implement joint projects.

With the aim of developing cooperation, Rustam Minnikhanov and Badr bib Hamad Al-Busaidi agreed to consider an issue of appointing an Honorary Consul of Sultan of Oman in Kazan and to open a trade and economic representative office of Tatarstan in Masqat.

On the errand from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Rais of Tatartan Rustam Minnikhanov is the Head of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World” with the representative of Oman – the Chairman of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science  Habib bin Mohammed bin Al-Sheikh Saeed Al-Riyami taking an active part in its work.
