In the Mother Tongue Day Rustam Minnikhanov meets workers of Tatar theater art

On 26 April in the Day of Mother Tongue and the birthday of Tatar classic of literature Gabdulla Tukay, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with figures of Tatar theatrical art in the new building of Kamal Theatre. 

Before the meeting the Rais of the republic looked round an exposition of various ethnic-cultural projects being implemented in the republic and beyond such as Tatar books, textbooks, animation films for children and the youth and the like. 

Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated everyone with the Mother Tongue Day and emphasized the importance of preservation of linguistic and cultural heritage of the republic. He informed that much work in this sphere is being done by a special commission headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and gave high evaluation to the contribution of Tatar creative workers into the development of national culture. ”Your projects especially those aimed at the youth audience combine traditions and modernity,” he emphasized.  

The coordinator of the MOÑ theatre platform Nurbek Batullin and the theatre director of the Tatar state drama and comedy theatre after Tinchurin Tufan Imamutdinov told about ARKADASH theatre project which has started in Almetyevsk whose two labs study identity of Tatarstan . They invited Rustam Minnikhanov to get acquainted with the project during his next trip to Almetyevsk and also to visit Almetyevsk Tatar state drama theater. 

The Chairman of the community council by Tatarstan Ministry of Culture Niyaz Iglamov told the Rais of the republic about the 16th festival of young directors “Craft” being held in Kazan and the supervisor of Apush studio Guzel Sibgatullina, who is the actress of the Kamal Theatre, thanked the leadership of the republic for supporting active development of children’s theatrical art.  

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the republic is ready to encourage initiatives to support Tatar theatre art. “The questions you raised are very important. We will define priority tasks together and find ways to solve them,” he summarized.  

In the end of the meeting the Rais of the republic thanked its participant for their active stand and the contribution into the preservation of Tatar cultural heritage.
