On 26 April, speaking at a regular Saturday meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  said that on the coming week we will be celebrating the Holiday of Spring and Labour and that May 1st has always been a symbol of unity of workers and respect of the society to laboring men.

He gave an errand to organize topical events and ensure their broad information coverage.

“May holidays people traditionally go out, it is the beginning of summer season but it is important to remember that from 14 May we have a special fire hazard regime in the republic,” the Rais of the republic said and gave an errand to employees of the Emergencies Ministry, fire brigades and law-enforcement bodies to ramp up preventive work in this sphere.

“It is especially worrying that with the onset of the spring-summer season we have seen a significant increase in accidents involving ATVs and motorcycles. This week we have already had 12 deaths. It is too many,” Rustam Minnikhanov reminded and emphasized that the problems happen when children are driving vehicles.

“Analysis of such cases shows that parents and owners of ATVs and motorcycles do not ensure proper control over storage and safe movement of such vehicles which quite often results in sad consequences. Every thoughtless trip on the road can end in tragedy,” the Rais of the republic said and gave an errand to the Traffic Police Directorate to step up control over compliance with the rules for the operation of personal mobility devices, especially near schools and courtyards, and conduct preventive raids in places where young people gather.  “It is important to launch an information campaign which will remind children and parents in an accessible form about safety rules when using all types of personal transport,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.
