Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik

On 23 April, speaking at his meeting with Belarus’ Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the republic highly appreciates an opportunity of expanding interaction with Belarus within the framework of friendly Russia-Belarus relations. He stated that leaders of both countries actively support the development of bounds at the regional level.

“Last year visits of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening the multi-sports tournaments “The Games of the Future” and of course to take part in the BRICS summit were a great honor for us,” the Rais of the republic said.

He said that Tatarstan and Belarus have a common rich history of mutually beneficial cooperation, Belarus being one of the leading trade partners of the republic, and added that direct Kazan-Minsk flights facilitate the development of business and tourist ties.

“We have been working together is the widest range of branches, such as agribusiness, petrochemical and machine building industries, forestry, transport, medicine and others. For many years we have been successfully cooperating with such companies and the Belneftekhim, Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomselmash and many others,” Rustam Minnikhanov informed.

In his turn Aleksandr Rogozhnik said that Tatarstan is one of the key economic partners of Belarus among Russian regions, with many joint projects being implemented and special attention attached to the development of cooperation bonds. The Ambassador also thanked the leadership of the republic for the attention it attaches to the issues of cooperation with Belarus.
