Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates municipal community of the republic with the Local Self-Government Day and hands in awards

On 19 April, speaking at a solemn event dedicated to the Local Self-Government Day in Russia held at the Korston Recreation Center in Kazan, the Raid (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Local administration, being responsible for solving issues of every-day life of citizens has always played a big role in the governance system. Many state tasks from small to the most important ones are brought into life due to your work.” He expressed gratitude to all representatives of the local self-government of the republic for their fruitful and diligent work, for desire to create comfortable conditions for life and raising well-being of residents as well as for their continuous readiness to help people in various issues.
Having mentioned the coming celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the WWII and the current challenge of ensuring the victory in the special military operation (SMO), the Rais of the republic informed that heads of settlements, members of local councils and family members of local self-government employees are taking direct participation in the SMO and added: “In this difficult time support given to their near and dear ones is very important for the soldiers. Our strength and patience inspire not only them but all people who are around you. We are proud of our guys and wish them to come home as soon as possible and of course with victory.”

“Unfortunately all wars bring losses and I express my deepest condolences to families of the fallen. The loss is past recovery. They gave their lives for ensuring our safety and we will always remember them. Our common task is to provide comprehensive support to families of defenders of Fatherland, “Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Despite all challenges Tatarstan is continuing its work in supporting municipal institutions and local self-government bodies, improvement of their work and every year implements a set of regional programmes aimed at solving issues of territories.
”We are grateful to the President and the Government of the country for measures taken for social and economic development of our cities and regions and rural settlements,” Rustam Minnikhanov stated and informed that on 21-23 there will be the second All-Russia Municipal Forum “The Small Motherland” in Moscow and many municipalities will take part in it. “I want to express special thanks to colleagues from the federal center for having supported our initiatives in preservation of the two-level model of local self-government in the new draft-law on local self-government in Russia,” he concluded.
Having reminded about two large political campaigns to be held in the republic in the current year, - namely, elections of the Rais of Tatarstan and members of local self-government bodies, Rustam Minnikhanov once again congratulated everyone with the Local Self-Government Day , thanked for diligent labour and wished good health and prosperity.

After the Rais of the republic handed in state awards, he handed in the Chairman of the Association “The Council of Municipalities of Tatarstan” Ekzam Gubaydullin a certificate for business SUVs for executive committees of municipalities and city districts of the republic.
