Rustam Minnikhanov gives a number of errands at a meeting in Tatarstan Government House

On 19 April, speaking at regional meeting in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that slightly more than two weeks are left till celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War (WWII) 1941-1945 and as a part of celebrations 8 227 war veterans have already been handed in jubilee medals dedicated to the Victory.

He also informed that one time payouts have been received by front-line soldiers, former minor prisoners of concentration camps, persons awarded the "Resident of Blockaded Leningrad" badge, home front workers, widows and invalids, participants in the Great Patriotic War.

Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to organize handing in war veterans congratulatory post cards and food gift baskets by 5 May and to ramp up work for holiday decorations in settlements of the republic. He also attracted attention to the importance of brining into order all monuments and obelisks dedicated to the fallen and to taking measures for ensuring safety during mass events.

“Our common task is to have the jubilee of the Great Victory at a high organizational level,” he said.

The Rais of Tatarstan reminded that on 20 April the Orthodoxy are celebrating the Easter and 21 April is the Local Self-Government Day. “Municipal administration is a well-coordinated team of like-minded men who dedicated themselves to service of their small Motherland. We congratulate all representatives of the municipal community of the republic with their professional holiday,” he said and added that later this day there will be a solemn ceremony of awarding the most outstanding employees of local self-government in the Korston Recreation Center.

Rustam Minnikhanov also gave an errand to organize work in bringing into order public spaces, gardens, embankments and yards after winter.
