Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting the organizing committee of the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”: I am sure the forum will be organized at a high level

On 17 April, speaking at a meeting of the organizing committee of the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”  held by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin in Moscow, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  said just one month is left till the event and its business programme is rather diverse and informative.

Speaking at the meeting, Marat Khusnullin reminded that in 2025 according to the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin the forum will be held at a federal level. ”The forum should play a key role in expanding and strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and the Muslim World,” he said and added: “KazanForum is not just an important event but also an efficient platform for promoting our culture and values. It is an opportunity to demonstrate that Russia is a strong and independent state dedicated to traditional values, tolerance and open for cooperation. We are vested special responsibility as the forum is held right after celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Victory. So it is extremely important to have all events at the high level.”

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that currently the organizers are carrying out an expansive invitation campaign with representatives from 74 countries and 61 regions of Russia having already confirmed their participation. He also informed that during his foreign visits in the first three months of the current year he and his partners discussed participation of high rank representatives and said that the coming event raises their huge interest.

The Rais of the republic also told about work being done for organizing visits of guests and the forum programme which covers more than 130 sessions and meetings on such topics as international cooperation, Islamic finances and investments, Halal industry, sports and, tourism and about a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World” to be organized at the forum.

It is also planned to have a congress of Ministers of Culture of the OIC countries which is associated with the status of the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2026 given to Kazan. “We are grateful to the Russian Government for supporting our initiative,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and concluded: “I am sure that our joint efforts will help to organize the Forum at the highest and most proper level.”
