Rais of Tatarstan visits Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in St Petersburg

On 16 April during his working trip to St Petersburg, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University established in 1899. Currently the university trains 34 089 students including 350 of them from Tatarstan and comprises 12 institutes, units of supplementary education, the New Industrial Technologies competences center and other units.

It has comprehensive cooperation with more than 350 universities from 64 countries and has direct contract relations with more than 70 companies and organizations from 28 countries.

Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the work of the university, looked round labs of light materials and constructions, the international scientific and educational center and the design bureau of the Advanced Engineering school and took part in a ceremony of signing several agreements between the SPbPU and Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science, the University of Innopolis, Almetyevsk State Technological University“ The Higher Oil School” and the Kazan National Research Technical University after A. Tupolev. The agreements presuppose joint work in facilitating efficient functioning of higher education, continuous learning, establishment of joint labs for developing new composite materials and robotics technologies and well as unmanned aircraft systems and implementation of joint scientific, creative and educational projects.
