Rustam Minnikhanov becomes Doctor Honoris Causa of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

On 16 April during his visit to Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony of his commencement as the Doctor Honoris Causa and handing him in the Diploma and the gown held in the ceremonial Hall of the Scientific Council of the university.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rais of the republic expressed his deepest gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. “It goes without saying that Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is a leader of engineering education of the country. It makes a substantial contribution into providing highly qualified specialists to all basic branches of domestic economy,” he said, addressing the University Administration.

He emphasized that the scientific- educational cluster of Tatarstan, the same as the academic community of St Petersburg, is aimed at the solution of a strategic task set forth by the Head of the State, namely ensuring technological leadership of our country in all crucial spheres of science and technology.

“I sincerely wish the university new success and achievements and its staff – good health and prosperity,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.
