Rustam Minnikhanov in Chongqing invites Chinese partners to take part in the ROSTKI forum

On 9 April welcoming participants of a business forum Tatarstan – Chongqing, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came to the town of Chongqing (China) on a working trip, expressed his gratitude to the Leadership of the country and the town for their attention to the development on inter-regional cooperation and an opportunity to organize the business forum and agree about new joint projects. 
“During the last years Russia-China relations have reached the level of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction. The BRICS Summit held in Kazan in October last year became an important milestone on this way. It was a great honor for us to host the President of China Xi Jinping at such a representative forum,” he said and reminded that the republic has been successfully cooperating with Chinese partners for many years.  The trade turnover between Tatarstan and China grew by 9 per cent and reached 3.3bn dollars US last year and the amount of investments attracted from China reached 38.7m dollars. 
Having informed that the republic works with Chongqing and a number of Chinese provinces in the Volga- Yangtze format, the Rais of the republic said: “We would like to develop closer bonds with Chongqing based on the inter-governmental agreement signed in 2019. Your town is one of the drivers of Chinese economy and I think we should consider more attentively where our business circles can work tightly.” 
He stated that the Russia-China business forum ROSTKI held in Kazan is one of the platforms for establishing close contacts and added: “Using this chance I want to invite all participants  of today’s meeting to the ROSTKI forum we are planning to have in August of the current year.” 
In his turn the Chongqing Deputy Mayor Shang Kui welcomed participants of the forum and said: “Friendly relations of China and Russia have a long history. At their meeting in October 2024 our Presidents emphasized the necessity to ramp up our interaction for ensuring the development of economies of our countries. This is a benchmark for further cooperation at the regional level.” 
After his presentation of the town of Chongqing, Tatarstan Minister of Trade and Industry Oleg Korobchenko informed about trade and economic capacity of the republic, while the Head of the Investments Agency of the republic Taliya Minullina made a presentation of the ROSTKI forum.
