Rustam Minnikhanov meets Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa al Khalifa

On 7 April on the sidelines of the International Investments Forum in Abu-Dhabi the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Chairman of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Board of Trustees Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa al Khalifa, whom he previously met in November 2024, when took part in a conference on Islamic Finances in Bahrain. 

The parties agreed that the AAOIFI will work closely with Tatarstan in organizing a conference on Islamic finances in the republic. 
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Our republic attaches big attention to the development of bonds with the Kingdom of Bahrain within the framework of Russia-Bahrain relations which traditionally have a constructive and friendly development. According to results of the last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Bahrain increased by 7 per cent and made 483 thousand dollars US,” and emphasized that the republic is the pilot region on the development of partnership financing in Russia, and further interaction with the organization, including training specialists and standards in this sphere is very important for Tatarstan.
In his turn the Sheikh said: ”I would like to pass you greetings from the King of Bahrain,” and emphasized that Tatarstan and Bahrain have not just business relations but real friendship and brotherhood. 
“We are looking forward to the event in Kazan and will bring a large delegation. We also actively promote your region so that delegations come to the KazanForum,” he concluded.
