Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ministry of Trade of Turkey, Co-Chairman of Russian-Turkish Inter-Governmental Commission Omer Bolat

On 7 April speaking at his meeting with the Ministry of Trade of Turkey, Co-Chairman of Russian-Turkish Inter-Governmental Commission Omer Bolat on the sidelines of the International Investments Forum in Abu-Dhabi, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We traditionally attach great attention to the development of trade, economic and investments cooperation with Turkey. Tatarstan is an efficient link between our countries.” 
He informed that last year the Tatarstan-Turkey trade turnover doubled and made 5.3bn dollars US with most trade done in national currencies. 
The parties stated that there are prospects for the development of trade in such spheres as car manufacturing, machine tool building and metalworking, agriculture, light industry, construction and IT. 
Rustam Minnikhanov proposed to intensify the exchange of business delegations, having stated that the KazanForum is a good tool for meeting potential partners and invited the Turkish minister to visit it in the current year. 
In his turn Omer Bolat thanked the Rais of the republic for a warm welcome given to the Turkish President during the BRICS Summit and passed words of greeting from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. 
“The BRICS Summit in Kazan is a good success story,” he said and informed that recently he was in Helsinki where he visited the Tatar Center and was impressed by the strong and active Tatar community living there. 
“We are interested in more products to be supplied from Russia,” the Minister assured and expressed his readiness to send a business delegation to the KazanForum.
